About Me
I have been a practicing social worker for over 30 years. In 1981, I earned a master's degree in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh. Prior to that, I earned a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Penn State. In 1990, I became a state-licensed social worker, an LSW.
From 1989-1998, I worked at the Butler Family Counseling Center. While there, I developed expertise in many areas, including depression, anxiety, panic and marital and family problems. Since that time, warmth and gentle humor have been the hallmark of my counseling style.
I opened my own practice in downtown Butler in August 1998, and continue to practice there.
I bring to my counseling practice a strong sense of liberal family values. Everyone is welcome regardless of race, religion, sexual preference or physical and developmental challenges.
Confidentiality will be strictly adhered to, as it is the cornerstone of the therapeutic relationship. There are times when an exception has to be made, such as in a life-threatening situation. If this occurs, I will discuss this with you as soon as possible.
I accept many different insurance plans. Please ask about your health insurance coverage when you arrange your first visit.
As of March, 2020, I am offering telemedicine sessions via Doxy-me , a HIPAA compliant telemedicine option. To utilize this, your insurance must have telemedicine as an option. Fee for service clients can just board the telemedicine train. You will need to go the https://doxy.me/ website to set your account up. It's free and easy, no download required.
