About Me
I focus my practice on adults, adolescents/teenagers, and couples. I use motivational interviewing, CBT, narrative therapy, interpersonal therapy, strengths based therapy, mindfulness, client empowerment, person centered recovery approach, solution focused therapy, DBT, 12 step facilitation therapy, and I encourage problem solving and skill building along the lines of a holistic approach involving spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical health.
I am experienced working with clients with mood disorders, personality disorders, depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, substance use disorders, thought disorders, psychosis, trauma, obsessions, and compulsions, and I am experienced in grief counseling, crisis counseling, and couples counseling.
I believe in creating a safe space for clients to have significant latitude to lead the discussion, allowing for ventilation of thoughts and feelings and fluid exploration of treatment goals. I value active listening, empathy, and consistently demonstrating warm acceptance and unconditional positive regard.
