About Me
I am originally from Florida, where I earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology at The Florida State University. I completed my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Marymount University. I enjoy using expressive and embodied techniques to help clients process their emotions and tackle life challenges.
My training at Marymount has shaped me into an effective counselor, using approaches that utilize a combination of techniques from Gestalt theory, Experiential theory, and Somatic Psychotherapy. I have worked with clients who have experienced anxiety, depression, life changes, processed past trauma, stress, and grief and loss. I work collaboratively with clients who are motivated, engaged in the counseling experience, and who want to explore themselves to find greater life satisfaction and happiness. I practice under the supervision of Charlie Clark, LPC. I am a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA).
Prior to entering the counseling field, I spent time volunteering with severely psychotic adult offenders and I worked as an English as a second language teacher for children in China for a year and a half. I also enjoy volunteering with horses and clients in therapeutic riding. In the future, I hope to specialize in Expressive Arts Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, and Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy. I understand the pressures of full time work, especially in this area where everyone has a lot going on outside of work too!
I truly enjoy working with clients to assist them on their life journey and I hope to hear from you!
