About Me
Rich Stapleton is Core Faculty at Walden University in the Master's in Mental Health Counseling Program, accredited by CACREP. He has been practicing since 2005 and started out his career working in Aurora, Colorado at an all-girls residential treatment center. He received his doctorate from Argosy University in Denver, Colorado in 2012. His research interest is on Secondary Trauma and his research on Coping Styles and Secondary Traumatic Stress in Direct Care Staff Working in Residential Treatment Centers was published in the Journal of Therapeutic Schools and Programs in 2016.
In Iowa, Richard is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and he is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Minnesota. He is also a Nationally Certified Counselor by the National Board of Certified Counselors. He is an Approved Clinical Supervisor by the Center for Credentialing and Education. He was recently certified as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional in 2019.
