About Me
So many emotions come with making the decision to seek counseling.
Are you stuck in an unhealthy pattern of communication?
Do you or your partner regularly feel unheard or criticized during conflict? Are you at a loss about how to communicate without conflict escalating?
Do you long for more connection and intimacy?
Are you wondering if trust can be repaired?
Or maybe you find yourself wanting more support navigating an external stressor (unemployment, loss, relocation, mental health issues, addiction, infertility) as a couple.
These are some common challenges I help couples address. My stance is empathic, warm, and nonjudgemental, and my hope is that you will feel a sense of safety within the therapeutic relationship. When you first come in, you can expect to feel heard. I will be curious to hear from you about the distress you are experiencing, whether that is in your relationship or in other areas of your life. Then together, we will create a treatment plan that aligns with your needs.
I am a Resident in Counseling, working towards my Professional Counseling License under the supervision of Amy Clay, LPC. My counseling approach is person-centered and integrative. I provide services to adults and couples.
I specialize in helping individuals process and heal from traumatic or painful life events, cope with symptoms of depression and anxiety in daily life, and live in congruence with personal values. One of the treatment modalities I use with clients seeking to process traumatic events is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a body-based treatment that utilizes bilateral stimulation.
I primarily help couples in the areas of communication and conflict management. I also provide premarital counseling for couples seeking to build a strong foundation for marriage. My approach to couples counseling is rooted in the Gottman Method Couples Therapy approach. I have completed Levels 1 and 2 training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy,
