About Me
With an expression of empathy and compassion, I believe that “a life lived for others is a life worthwhile.” Helping individuals to lovingly heal in order to improve the quality of their lives is my humble contribution to the world.
To promote change, I utilize various evidence-based treatment approaches which includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy Therapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Psychoanalytic Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Attachment Therapy, Mindfulness, and Strength Based Perspective.
My valuable experience and expertise are with Mood Disorders (Depression/Bipolar Disorder), Anxiety/Panic Disorders, PTSD, Stress Management, Family/Relationship Dynamics, and Life Skills/Coaching. Infant Mental Health Therapy which focuses on the parent-infant/child attachment relationship and working with women (notably women of color) challenged by the effects of Postpartum Depression and/or Postpartum Anxiety are my specialties. I have practiced in the field of Social Work since 1991 working with culturally diverse populations of adults, adolescents, children, infants, couples, and families in jail, residential, home-based, group, and outpatient settings.
I am exceedingly committed to meeting individuals “where they are” as well as to challenge them to overcome any stumbling blocks along the way while encouraging self-compassion to establish emotional and mental well-being for healthy living.
