Michael Kaufman

Degree and Experience:
I received my Masters degree in Social Work at Arizona State University, and my Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (Psychology, Philosophy and Sculpture) at the University of Arizona. From 2009 to 2015 I worked for Providence Service Corporation, a Community Mental Health Center in Tucson, Arizona, as an ongoing Child, Family, and Group Therapist. From 2001 to 2015 I volunteered in the field of grief and loss as a group facilitator for children ages three to eighteen years-old. I have been Reiki 1 certified in the Usui school since 2002, have been a Hospice volunteer, and worked for Americorps as a Team Leader creating and implementing service learning projects for teens. I am licensed in the State of Washington as a Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), as well as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in the state of Arizona.

Philosophy and Style:
I believe that my clients are the experts of themselves and their families. I am client-centered, strengths-based and solution-focused. My focus is to join with you to assist you on your journey to greater understand yourself and your relationships. I believe that my job is to listen without judgement and to do my best to understand how your mind operates (why you do what you do) to help you move towards the goal(s) that you identify to heal yourself, your relationships, and/or overcome barriers that you are aware of (or not) that have led to this point.
