About Me
Lily Kugler is an experienced substance abuse counselor who has worked with countless individuals and families to achieve long-term recovery. Over the course of her seven years as a practicing clinician, she has made waves within the field as an expert interventionist and relapse preventionist by focusing on what is needed to sustain positive change after a teen or young adult discharges from a structured treatment facility or program.
Lily believes that the success and effectiveness of treatment, in the beginning stages of recovery, is reliant on the family’s ability to hold strong boundaries and give loving accountability to help support their loved one’s recovery. Through her services, she helps young people and their parents build a foundation of choice based action, develop emotional stability, discover a spiritual connection and achieve physical wellness by utilizing a mindfulness-based cognitive-behavioral approach paired with motivational interviewing and DBT skills.
Lily has lead and developed therapeutic-based wilderness programs, weekend yoga retreats for young women in recovery as well as facilitated immersions for clinical health professionals to learn how to work closely together as a treatment team. Lily is licensed through the Texas Department of State Health Services as a licensed chemical dependency counselor and holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Houston. She has also participated in extensive mindfulness and yoga trainings earning her 500-hour yoga teacher certification with the Yoga Alliance. Outside of counseling sessions, you can find Lily practicing and teaching yoga at local yoga studios in Houston and traveling the world with her husband.
A Message from Lily:
Don't try to navigate your young adult's substance abuse alone. I know that you and your family have already endured a long dark road of fear, doubt, and chaos to get you here. Whether this is your first or fifth attempt to helping your teen or adult-child find recovery, the whirlwind of self-destructive behavior leaves all families feeling powerless and hopeless in their ability to help. Although, you may be powerless over the abuser's actions and substance use, it does not mean you are without influence. My mission is to guide you in learning how to best help yourself and your loved one who struggles with substance abuse.
If you are ready to begin rebuilding trust, establishing healthy boundaries and cultivate a loving relationship with your teen or young adult as well as reclaim your life back from the impact of substance abuse, contact me today.
