William Smith

I graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Social Work in 2010 and Master's of Social Work (MSW) in 2012 from The University of Washington in Seattle, with a focus on psychotherapy, forensic social work, and trauma. Since moving back to Atlanta in 2012, I have worked in a variety of settings, mostly centered in psychiatry and outpatient therapy. I currently own and manage Greater Atlanta Family Counseling, a non-intensive outpatient private practice with locations in Decatur and Lawrenceville. Here, my duties primarily consist of treating clients and overseeing everyday operations, including providing clinical supervision for a small team of therapists.

My clinical interests center around generalist work, such as stress, depression, anxiety, and adjustments, but with an emphasis in treating psychological trauma, attachment trauma, and family systems. We accept all major insurance and begin working with clients at four years old.
