About Me
I am a retired military disabled veteran that made the transition to civilian life. I understand how much anxiety and depression can affect your life as your try to figure out the next road your life is to follow. I can help you find your strengths and develop coping strategies that help you blossom into the person you were always capable of being. I specialize in family concerns, relationship issues, veterans's issues, women's issues, criminal justice, substance use, and I work with people who want to make positive changes in their life. My goal is to help my clients heal and find balance again in their lives through treating the whole person - mind, body, and spirit. I work with children ages 6 and up, adolescents, and adults in individual and/or family therapy sessions. I provide an eclectic approach to therapy and work at the pace of my clients. Some of the evidence-based therapeutic approaches I utilize include: Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to build interpersonal skills, manage feelings of distress, and develop emotional efficacy as part of managing mood; and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to build confidence and address issues regarding self-esteem and recovery. I am also certified in EMDR. I have over 7 years of experience in psychotherapy in both private practice and in working in various non-profit organizations, correctional facilities for adult and youth, and community care providers that incorporated a multi-skilled approach in treating patients for health and wellness. I graduated in 2013 with honors from Colorado Christian University with a Masters of Art in Counseling. My top specialities are: trauma, anxiety, and depression, secondary to substance use or other medical issues. My credentials are: Licensed Professional Counselor LPC.0012987 Colorado, Licensed Addictions Counselor ACD.0000699 Colorado and National Board Certified Counselor 329639.
