About Me
Dr. Faur is a licensed psychologist in Ohio specializing in the treatment of anxiety disorders, PTSD and depression. She gained diverse experience working with children, adolescents and adults during graduate training, fellowship in Psychiatry at the Boston University School of Medicine/Center for Multicultural Training in Psychology and the VA. Dr. Faur offers diagnostic assessment and empirically based treatment. She is passionate about working with adults with a variety of disorders, life problems and existential crises as well as helping young people struggling with self-esteem, depression, anxiety and behavioral problems.
Dr. Faur uses evidence based practice to help people live fuller lives. This includes using outcome measures to evaluate progress and ensure patients are benefiting from therapy. She follows a practitioner-scientist model, has taught psychology courses at various universities, and is continuously learning how best to practice.
Dr. Faur's therapeutic orientation includes a humanistic, patient centered approach using emotion focused, cognitive-behavioral, DBT, child directed play therapy, social skills training, and parental education techniques. She believes in nurturing a strong therapeutic alliance and enjoys collaborating with clients to help them achieve their personal goals.
Dr. Faur values understanding clients' needs from a culturally sensitive perspective. She is LGBTQIA affirming. She is bilingual in English and Romanian, proficient in French and has a limited knowledge of Spanish. In her personal time, she enjoys music, yoga, the arts, cooking, reading, chasing her dog and spending time with family and friends.
