I view life as a journey with many obstacles along the way. We may find ourselves struggling with difficult or broken relationships, illness, the death of a loved one or unresolved issues from our childhood. At times we might feel anxious, confused, depressed and even hopeless and we don't know where to turn to find relief. Struggles and challenges are part of the human condition and sometimes we need a little assistance to overcome them. Together we can collaborate in exploring the issues that affect you and the obstacles that hold you back from realizing your highest potential. I am passionate about helping people find the inner peace and fulfillment we all seek by assisting them in acquiring tools for self-growth, for reducing anxiety and depression and for improved relationships. The process can be extremely rewarding and life-changing.

I have been married for 27 years and have 5 teens/young adults. After years of being a stay-at-home mom, several of my friends and acquaintances who sought my advice and support encouraged me to become a therapist. I went back to school and earned a master's degree in counseling and today I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC). I subsequently earned certificates in trauma/PTSD (with a specialty in sexual trauma) and in intimate relationship skills. I am also trained in DIalectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I have been in private practice since 2012.

I know firsthand how overwhelming and frightening transitions can be. Sometimes just the thought of making a change in your life can prevent you from moving forward. It is scary to take that first step but it's a little easier when you know that someone will be by your side guiding and encouraging you every step of the way.

Combining several modalities, my approach is custom-tailored to meet each individual's needs. I believe the client is the expert on his/her own life and I am the emotional/mental guide who will assist you in reaching your destination.

I have experience working with adults and adolescents as well as couples and families. My experience with adolescents comes from both the clinical setting and my personal life. I know firsthand what it's like to be the parent of a teenager as well as the unique issues and challenges faced by teens.
