About Me
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist on the East side of Los Angeles. My education and training have led to working with people from diverse cultural and socioeconomic background, sexual orientations, and gender preference.
For over 8 years I have worked with individuals, couples, families and groups on a wide range of themes including: grief, relationship difficulties, sex and sexuality, challenges in becoming a parent and life transitions.
The foundation of my style is rooted in Narrative Therapy. Narrative Therapy is a collaborative approach which addresses the social, family, political contexts that have impact on life issues. Within this interactive and creative frame, I utilize reflective questions and curiosity towards held meanings to promote more self awareness, confidence, and better relationships.
While my core philosophy is guided by Narrative therapy, I am also influenced by relational therapies (Gestalt and Emotionally Focused Therapy) as well as Mindfulness practices. I have found that identifying meanings of emotional expressions in the here and now helps clients practice preferred ways of relating, bringing more insight and peace to their experience. I look forward to speaking with you.
