About Me
I come from a variety of training backgrounds. Originally trained in pastoral work, I have added a systemic perspective as I realize everyone is influenced, positively and negatively, by their family and other relationships. I use hypnosis as a therapeutic tool when appropriate. My goal is to facilitate personal growth and to help people get unstuck. I work with trauma survivors.
My academic training consists of: M.Ed in counseling psychology with an emphasis in rehabilitation (Georgia State University); M.Div. in pastoral ministry (Emory University); Ph.D. in counseling and human development (University of Georgia).
My work settings have included hospital, community agencies, graduate training programs, and private practice.
I have been married for 53 years, have 3 adult daughters and 6 grandchildren. In addition to being a licensed therapist, I am a clergy person in Full Fellowship with the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations.
