About Me
Born and raised in New Jersey, I received my undergraduate degree in psychology from Cornell University. After working as a teacher and case manager with adolescents and young adults with psychiatric and developmental disabilities for several years I completed my master's degree in Mental Health Counseling at Boston College. My love of learning and working with adults of all ages led me to pursue a doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin.
During the first fifteen years of my career as a therapist I trained and worked in several community mental health and college counseling centers. Throughout my time in agency work I had the pleasure of directing clinical training programs as well as coordinating group psychotherapy and multicultural education programs. For the past several years I have worked exclusively with adult clients in private practice and love having the opportunity to help people make ongoing changes in their lives.
In my career I have been continually humbled by the courage and resilience in each of my clients. I can not emphasize enough how much I appreciate and respect the trust people place in me and our work together. I am passionate about multiculturalism and social justice issues in my personal and professional life. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, walking my dog around town, reading, cooking, playing sports, practicing yoga and meditation, and spending time outdoors taking advantage of the natural beauty of Fort Collins.
