About Me
My clients are some of the strongest, most resilient people that I know. Yet, they often don't recognize this about themselves initially.
I have wanted to be a therapist for as long as I can remember. After struggling to find a therapist who I really felt understood by, I knew I needed to become that person for others. I received my Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Florida State University and completed my Master’s of Social Work Degree from New York University Silver School of Social Work. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Florida and am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), a highly effective treatment modality for the treatment of trauma.
I chose trauma as my specialty because though everyone’s exposure to trauma may vary, I have found it to be a universal phenomenon. Many people think of trauma as horrific life experiences such as physical and sexual abuse or combat. While trauma is those things, it is also emotional abuse, financial loss, divorce, career loss, grief, infertility, postpartum adjustment, and anything else that negatively impacts your life or causes emotional pain.
I have been given the gift of intuition, a gift which we are all capable of when we allow the strength of universal connectedness to flow through us. For me, this means I can channel messages from spirit and help people heal on a deeper level than typically available to us in human form alone. While I will never channel without permission, as I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, many of my clients choose to incorporate intuitive guidance into their sessions for an added layer of insight.
My approach to healing is eclectic, as I pull from principles of EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Somatic Experiencing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and more to create a customized approach for every client I work with. In addition to running my private practice, I have also taught in an academic capacity as an Adjust Professor at Florida Atlantic University. When I am not working, you can find me at home in my happy place, with my husband and two little ones.
So now that you know a little bit about me, I would love to get to know more about you. Get in touch with me today and let’s start helping you shift your thinking so that you can change your life.
