About Me
I currently focus on treating treating individuals and couples who are coping with a variety of psychological and life challenges. I graduated with a master's degree in 2008 and a Ph.D. in 2012 and am licensed as a Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania. While I was trained as a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, I also incorporate psychodynamic, interpersonal, and humanistic approaches into treatment. I have experience treating couples with a wide array of relationship challenges and often work with couples and families for a period of 6 to 12 months in order to collect a detailed relationship history, improve communication skills, enhance intimacy between spouses, and resolve family conflict. I also have experience in working with individuals who are recovering from various forms of trauma and are seeking to process and understand past events in order to live a more productive and fulfilling life. In past 5 years I have worked with several individuals who are experiencing family conflict due to struggles with adult children. I work with these families to help better understand family history, life circumstances, and changing family roles as children become adults. Family conflicts can be deep rooted and often require 6 to 12 months of intense individual and family sessions to improve family communication and resolve past miscommunication issues. With all clients I attempt to tailor treatment approaches and goals to the individual client in order to ensure the best outcomes.
