About Me
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Masters in Social Work from Fordham University. I have 20 years of experience working with teenagers, individuals, couples and families. I am trained in EMDR, a technique used to help process and resolve trauma and other entrenched issues. Additionally, I have an expertise in the treatment of eating disorders and have facilitated support groups for the American Anorexia and Bulimia Association and have conducted Body Image Workshops at two local high schools.
I provide therapy for adolescents, adults, couples, and families. My treatment provides support and expertise in a compassionate environment as to help clients understand and resolve current problems and long standing patterns. I work with a broad array of challenges that people face, such as depression, anxiety, relationship problems, life transitions, trauma, self-mutilation, loss and and have a speciality in eating disorders.
Blending conventional and alternative therapies such as Mindfulness and Spirituality, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Supportive Therapy, Imago Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Dialectical Therapy and EMDR, I tailor sessions to meet each client's individual needs. My approach is to understand symptoms and patterns as coping mechanisms and manifestations of underlying core beliefs developed in response to one's experiences. It is through this compassionate exploration that one is able to develop more understanding, self-acceptance and become empowered to make needed changes for greater freedom and authenticity.
As a therapist, I have helped many people heal and improve the quality of their lives and relationships. One client stated, "I would never have been where I am today without you. You sit on my shoulder and whisper to me." It is a joy to support people in this journey and to be a witness to this wonderful process of change and growth.
