About Me
Dr. Matthew Bruhin is a CEO, Psychotherapist and Addiction Specialist, as well as an entrepreneur and educator. He is a State of California and State of Wyoming, Board Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, and an Addiction Specialist, registered by the Breining Institute. Dr. Bruhin earned his Doctorate in Addiction Psychology, holds his Masters degree in Counseling Psychology, and also a Bachelors degree in Psychology, with a Minor in Addictive Disorders.
Dr. Bruhin is CEO of APEX Recovery, a large up-scale dual diagnosis, integrative treatment center, that utlizes evidence based treatment models. He is also President of Matthew Bruhin & Associates, where he is the lead Psychotherapist & Addiction Specialist in a private practce that employs both licensed and intern clinicians. In his practice, he regularly performs clinical evaluations and provides expert testimony in criminal, civil, and family court cases. Additonally, he is an educator at NYU, where he teaches at the Steinhardt graduate program in counseling. He also regularly appears on network television as a leader in the addiction field and also speaks and trains at both public and professional events.
Dr. Bruhin has worked in the San Diego mental health field for over 15 years, building successful healthcare businesses. He works with a diverse population of professionals and clientele. He specializes in the treatment of addictions and has specialized experience and clinical training in the treatment of prescription addiction, sexual addiction, and gambling addiction. He works with many individuals and families ranging from the chronic mentally ill, to high level professionals, executives, and media personalities. He has developed his own specialized and effective techniques for the treatment of addiction and chemical dependency. He is currently working on several startups and plans on improving both the clinical application and reputation of the addiction treatment industry.
