About Me
My philosophy of therapy and change is that change comes from within. As a therapist, I ask a great deal in asking an individual to change, as change is an incredibly difficult task for everyone. The journey of change requires both the client and myself to work collaboratively throughout this journey. It is for this reason that the rapport between the client and myself is critical. I aim to provide all my clients with the space to explore their underlying feelings, thoughts, and behaviors so that they can engage in change.
I completed my Bachelors Degree in Psychology at William Paterson University in 1996, as well as earing my Masters degree in Counseling Psychology in May 2000 from New Jersey City University. I earned my licenses as a Licensed Professional Counselor and as a Licensed Clinical and Drug Counselor in 2003.
While my approach to treatment is greatly influenced by psychoanalysis and reality therapy, I also employ aspects of Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy. I have experience working in a variety of settings including substance abuse programs, intensive in-home community services, juvenile detention centers, school-based programs, and outpatient counseling programs.
