About Me
The founder of The Art of Becoming – Practice of Marriage & Family Therapy, LLC. (A.O.B.) a clinical private practice and platform focused on the life art of self and relational development of the human family. Since 1998, Nieema has dedicated her professional expression in various capacities contributing to the non-profit, health, entertainment and academic sectors, with such organizations as : Housing Works-NY, Covenant House of NY, Screen Actors Guild of NY and Mercy College to name a few. Nieema’s clinical and professional training skills have contributed to collaborative efforts of the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and the Visiting Nurse Service of New York’s Parachute NYC program, where she served as a clinical provider and a Training Facilitator.
In 2011, Nieema founded her clinical private practice -The Art of Becoming, Inc. (AOB) in New York City and has now expanded her practice to the state of Delaware. With a passion for progressive healing and forward thinking, a core aim A.O.B. seeks to address, is reforming distorted approaches to concerning life issues. As a therapist and life coach, Nieema views herself as a springboard for change in her clients’ lives and in the lives of the community she serves. While appreciating the culturally and socially diverse backgrounds that represent the communities we live in, Nieema has a strong desire to facilitate conflict resolution, improve communication and create readiness for change through practice of self-knowledge, atonement and forgiveness in clients. She is passionate about working with clients who seek to resolve a myriad of challenges, including:
Depression
Anxiety
Trauma
Anger
Grief/Loss
Conflict Resolution
Lack of knowledge of self
Life cycle transitions
Generational concerns
Couple & Marital Concerns
Resolving these challenges can often be undermined by the resistance of self-acceptance/accountability, relational connection, and the promotion of profound transformation. For this purpose, A.O.B encourages a focus on the process of self and relational practice as a life art; strengthening individuals, couples, families and communities to generate loving interruptions in identified problem cycles, create liberating change and learn to embrace growth with gratitude.
