About Me
"Pain is inevitable, but suffering is a choice." The Buddha
Peggy's goal is to end suffering. She believes in respect for the individual no matter what. She also believes that each person has the power and ability to makes choices that bring about a healthy lifestyle. She knows that along with the proven psychological techniques she uses, that it is the acceptance and unconditional love she gives that also helps to heal a broken heart and soul.
Peggy has over 28 years in the mental health field as a counselor, supervisor (23 years) and educator. She has worked in community agencies, including Hospice of Northwest Ohio, inpatient and outpatient psychiatric units, and has taught at Northwest State Community College, Southwestern College in New Mexico, and in the graduate program of Mental Health and School Counseling at Bowling Green State University. Peggy has also presented at numerous workshops, and conferences at both the state level, and national level. Her presentations have focused on several area: presenting how to help people who have had near-death experiences; on spiritual emergency; along with the ethical implications of the role of spirituality counseling, and anticipatory grief.
Dr. Lesniewicz originally worked in the field of sexual abuse, and mental and emotional disorders, after receiving her doctorate in Transpersonal Psychology in 1993, she has broadened her scope to include issues of spiritual problems and wounding, near-death-experiences, grief, aging/retirement, life transitions, terminal illness, and past-life regression using hypnotherapy.
