About Me
I am a highly experienced and compassionate mental health professional with a doctorate in Counseling Psychology from University of Missouri-Columbia and post-doctoral training at Barnard College in New York City. I have been a practicing psychologist in various community and university settings for over 10 years. You may be experiencing issues with emotional eating; relationships, work/life balance or trying to find new ways to cope with any difficulties. I practice warmth, kindness and genuine honesty in order to assist in the creation of a safe and supportive environment.
Within therapy, I incorporate multicultural frameworks by concentrating on a client’s unique perspective, worldview and culture. My style is integrative as I work with clients by actively combining primarily insight-oriented, psychodynamic and interpersonal approaches. Overall I strive to help individuals create positive changes and achieve personal goals
Some of my treatment specialties and professional interests include depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, stress and coping, interpersonal/relationship concerns, emotional eating, obesity, body image; pre and post-operative counseling to bariatric patients, life transitions, and diverse populations involving sexual orientation, gender, racial identities.
