About Me
My sessions allow patients space to focus on and be themselves, away from daily demands and societal pressures. My goal is help clients determine what their roadblocks are, and what are the best strategies to effectively manage these blocks. From there, they come to learn who they truly are and can then move forward to achieve the lives they desire. As a cognitive behavioral therapist, and with my PhD in Clinical and School Psychology from Hofstra University, my work focuses on two populations: females (pre-teen girls, adolescent women and adult women) and members of the LGBTQ community.
Both groups can experience specific challenges which require specific strategies to successfully navigate to optimal functioning. These may include anxiety, depression, lifestage or lifestyle transitions, physical changes, developmental struggles, or some combination of these experiences.
In turn, while there are shared challenges within each group, each person also has unique, individualized issues. I specialize in working with girls, women and LGBTQ members to identify the hurdles they face - cognitively, emotionally and behaviorally - which are impeding their realization of goals and their enjoyment of their current lives.
