I believe in trying differently, rather than harder. Different approaches and thinking out of the box can create change in even the most difficult situations. Evidence based practices are individualized to the person, family and situation. Parenting children with trauma (neglect, physical, emotional and sexual abuse) and prenatal alcohol exposure (OR BOTH) can be extremely difficult. It is often overwhelming and frustrating. Parenting these children requires different approaches than parenting "neurotypical" kiddos. They struggle with healthy attachment, viewing every person and situation through a "survival' lens of distrust.
