About Me
I have a passion for helping people heal, whether from overwhelming/intense trauma, or the everyday blues of life. I feel honored to walk with my clients on their journey to finding the joy and happiness that we all crave and need in our lives. I have been blessed to find treatment models that I honestly believe in and stand behind because I see the evidence of success in the lives of my clients, as well as my own life. I created a private practice, Change Heals, designed to use my skills to help people better understand themselves in order to find their healing.
Are you struggling with feelings of hopelessness or constant panic/fear? Are you just muddling through the day to day stress of life's endless demands? Tired of waking up and fighting through the day only do it all over again? We all have a longing for peace and calm in our lives.
My goal is to help you identify the roadblocks that keep you from healing. I will educate and guide you through identifying the roots of distress. This frees you to move forward, giving you back control of your thoughts and feelings. Only then can you nurture yourself and truly grow. If you have tried other counseling methods, but aren't seeing the results you want, or coming to counseling for the first time, I am here to help. I have seen the benefits of these methods both in the lives of my clients and in my own life. There is power in change and growth in our healing.
I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, with a Supervisor Designation (LPCC-S). I have been working in the field for over 10 years. I utilize a wide range of counseling approaches in my work with clients to include Developmental and Relational Trauma (DART), Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), cognitive behavioral therapy, and family centered therapy. I have worked in various settings including home based therapy, private practice, school based therapy, community mental health agencies, and residential/in-patient services. I enjoy working with adults, couples, and families. I have worked for several years as a Clinical Director, supervising other clinicians. I enjoyed teaching and training my staff in the field, however, I am excited to return to working directly with clients and their families.
I proudly share that I am a United States Army Veteran. I served 8 years in the Army Reserves, including one year tour of active duty in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2005-2006.
