About Me
I am a board certified, licensed professional counselor in the state of Ohio. I have been married for 13 years and have three children. My parents were both raised in India and arrived in the United States in their 20s. I lived in both India and all over the U.S during my childhood. I understand the many facets of being bicultural.
Women are expected to take on many roles and carry a lot of responsibility. Usually, without a lot of supports in place. The concept of the village helping parents is mostly non-existent in present-day society. My focus is all stages of motherhood, perinatal mood disorders, women's health, parenting and premarital counseling. I believe that counseling can help at any stage of life and premarital counseling can help lay the foundation for a healthy marriage and family.
My goal is to help you come up with potential solutions to issues in a collaborative way. I would like things to improve quickly for you but at the same time, the goal is to come up with lifelong tools and coping strategies that will hopefully help you for the rest of your life. I utilize research-based techniques while being warm, empathetic and genuine. I want therapy to be a place in which you can talk about your issues openly and without reservation.
