About Me
I have been in private practice for over 20 years. Prior to developing my own practice, I worked for Managed Health Network where I learned a great deal about the issues and tensions, employees and managers face, in the complex work world of Silicon Valley. In my work at MHN, I was the clinical account manager for 18 companies (such as Genentech, NOAA and Nextel) and 23 cities (including the cities of Sunnyvale ,Santa Clara and San Carlos). While at MHN I also developed and presented multiple workshops to over 30 companies (including Hewlett Packard, Cisco, Intel, Intuit and Symantec). Some of the workshops I have developed are: Balancing Work and Family, Managing Change, Dual Career Couples, Effective Family Communication. Eldercare, Stress Management and Surviving Your Own Perfectionism. I have also overseen many Critical Incident Stress Debriefings at many Bay Area Companies.
Prior to MHN, I worked for eight years at Stanford University Hospital. During my employment at Stanford I developed a program providing psychotherapeutic services at Hoover Pavilion and worked in the Neonatal Intensive Care unit and General Medical units. My experience there helped me to understand infant-mother bonding issues, as well as, many medical diseases and the ways in which they impact a person’s lifestyle and state of mental well-being.
I hold licenses in both Marriage and Family Counseling and Clinical Social Work. (MFT -8177 & LCS - 5376).
I have had specialized training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) to help people overcome the effects of trauma.
